She called him several times, he wouldn't answer the call. She tried every medium and even called his mom.
No one knew anything and when she finally walked into his house, she found an empty home, she saw the empty wall.
The wall which was adorned with the sweet memories of their years together. The picnics, the holidays and the special night of prom.
She hoped for some explanation, some reassurance but all the signs were there. His bills were paid, his car was sold and his pets had been sent away.
He had told her, one day he would leave for Vienna; the city of his dreams. But, she knew him better and knew that that she meant more to him. She had prayed in silent hymns.
He was gone now and she straightened her shoulders, she was stronger than he had imagined. She stood upright and shook away the single tear that threatened to reveal.
She thought of her life now, as she walked into her own house. She would be tougher, shine brighter and be a true fighter.
As she switched on the lights, he scooped her into his arms, that's when the tears started brimming. Through her tears, she saw what he held; two tickets to Vienna and a tiny diamond ring.
