Come Diwali, I get this intense desire to become 'everything nice'. The general positivity emanating from everywhere makes you believe in a couple of things
1. The world is perfect
2. Strangers do smile at each-other
3. It's like birthday+NewYear, whatever wrong you did in the past is History. You can start afresh, achieve maximum after you finished binging in 'maximum-food' festival.
4. Something that I somehow believe since childhood is that whatever you do during Diwali-Newyear day's sets the tone for your behavior year-round. So I always minimize conflict, avoid people who drain me and be as productive as possible.
This Diwali I wanted to be extra goody2shoes.
So, here's listing my achievements this year! Woot!
I've burst crackers only one time after my 5th standard teacher explained how destructive they really are. A happy phenomenon in my family is that none of us bursts/gifts/accepts crackers. So, that's one achievement.
As for others..here goes!
1. Almost broke a traffic rule but stopped short.
2. Helped to tidy the house
3. Read enriching material.
4. Attempted a Rangoli (It came out bad, but there was minimum touching)
5. Used minimum phone
6. Set plinth for a new blog (yay!)
7. SHOPPED!!
8. Spend time with family
9. Took quick decisions
10. Danced
11. Had a bath twice and dressed UP!
12. Made an effort to.get in touch with people who make me happy
13. Gave Diwali gift to mom-dad!
14. Prayed
Shubha Deepawali :-):-)
